Get to know your Student Union

Your Students’ Union (SU) is a charity, working independently from the university to support and represent students. As a Coventry University Group student, you’re automatically a member. You can get involved by joining a club or society, becoming a Course or College Rep, or putting yourself forward as an Elected Officer.

What does the Students’ Union do?

The SU is here to support you and help you enjoy student life. Here's what it offers:

  • Student voice: Elected Officers and Reps who listen to students and speak up on your behalf
  • Clubs and societies: Join a sports team or society to make friends and do something you enjoy, or try something new. You’ll find a variety of sports clubs for all skill levels, from casual to competitive
  • Advice Service: Free, private advice on things like housing, money or your course
  • Skills and work experience: Get help with volunteering, placements, digital badges and awards to help build your CV
  • Campaigns and communities: Get involved in activities that make your university a fairer, safer, and more welcoming place
  • Events and workshops: Enjoy fun, useful events all year where you can meet people and learn new things
