Lost and found property

If you’ve lost something on campus, it may have been handed in to a Customer Services Desk or transferred to the central Lost Property office.

The service is managed by the Protection Services.

First, retrace your steps

Before reporting a lost item:

  • Return to the building where you last had it
  • Check the rooms and spaces you used
  • If you cannot access a room, visit a Customer Services Desk for help.

Check if your item has been handed in

Lost items are usually handled in two stages:

  • Items are first taken to the nearest Customer Services Desk
  • After around one week, they are moved to Central Lost Property.

Central Lost Property location: Ground Floor, George Eliot.

Some items may be taken directly to Central Lost Property, so it’s worth checking both locations.

Important

  • Valuable items (e.g. phones, wallets, keys, laptops) are handed to Central Lost Property as soon as possible
  • Small items like USB sticks are sent directly to Central Lost Property.

Claim your lost item

To collect your property:

  • Visit Central Lost Property
  • Bring proof of identity (e.g. your student ID card).

Opening hours
