Book a room on campus
There are a few different ways to book a space on campus, depending on the type of room you need.
Book a Library study room
You can book group study rooms in the Library.
- Rooms are available on a first come, first served basis
- Availability depends on demand
- Different room types are available depending on your needs.
Check availability and book through the Library.
Book a classroom or teaching space
If you need a classroom or larger space, you’ll need to contact your timetabling team.
- Email your request at least 2 - 3 working days in advance
- Some rooms may need additional approval before they can be confirmed.

- College of Engineering, Environment and Science
- School of Health and Care.

What to include in your booking request
To help your request be processed quickly, include:
- Your full name
- Your Student ID number (Phoenix card)
- Date of your booking
- Start and end time (maximum booking is usually 2 hours)
- Type of room (e.g. classroom, meeting room)
- Number of people attending
- Any equipment needed (e.g. screen, PowerPoint)
- Brief reason for booking (e.g. group work, presentation practice).
On the day of your booking
Make sure you have your room booking confirmation email with you.
You may be asked to show this at the Customer Service Desk on:
- your phone
- laptop or tablet
- or as a printout.
If you can’t show your confirmation email, access to the room may be refused.
Using the room responsibly
- Leave the room on time (allow a few minutes for the next group to set up)
- Keep the space clean and tidy:
- Wipe whiteboards
- Take rubbish with you or use bins
- Return furniture to its original position
- Turn off lights and equipment
- Close the door when you leave.
Booking specialist rooms
Some spaces (e.g. labs or rooms with specialist equipment) are managed separately.
- These are usually booked through technicians or your course team
- Not all specialist rooms are available for student bookings.
