Spirituality and faith support

Spirituality and faith support is available to all students, we offer a warm and welcoming service for all faiths and none.

You can find:

  • Quiet, calm spaces for prayer or time to yourself
  • Friendly chaplains who listen and help you in private
  • Support to find places of worship near you
  • Chances to learn about different faiths with videos, talks and events
  • Social activities that celebrate different cultures and beliefs

If you want:

  • Confidential support from our chaplains
  • Find a quiet place to pray or reflect
  • Connect with local faith groups or places of worship
  • Join events based on faith or culture

Facilities

Our Spirituality and Faith Centre is in The Hub building, 3rd floor (Jordan Well entrance). Here you’ll find:

  • A multi-faith open space and chapel for prayer and services
  • Separate Muslim prayer rooms with ablution (washing) facilities
  • A multi-faith library with books and study materials
  • Quiet spaces for meditation or reflection
  • Regular activities and events celebrating faith and culture

Muslim Prayer Facilities

We provide dedicated facilities to support Muslim students with their prayer needs.

  • There are separate Muslim prayer rooms for brothers and sisters located in the Spirituality and Faith Centre, 3rd floor of The Hub (Jordan Well entrance).
  • The prayer rooms have ablution facilities (washing areas) to prepare for prayer.
  • Brothers’ prayer room (Charles Ward, Room CWB44) is open on weekdays from 5am to 8am and 11:30am to 12pm, and on weekends from 11:30am to 10pm.
  • Sisters’ prayer rooms are open 8:30am to 5pm in the Spirituality and Faith Centre and 9am to 10pm at The Junction (Foundation Campus, Basement).
  • Friday prayers take place at the Priory Sports Hall. If you have questions about these, please contact the Spirituality and Faith team.

The team is happy to support any questions about prayer times, spaces, or other faith needs.

Faith and cultural societies

Faith and cultural societies are a place of community where you can connect with other students to celebrate your beliefs, share traditions, and enjoy social events.

To find out about faith or cultural societies near you, contact your Students’ Union. They can connect you with groups that share your faith or culture, or help you to start a new society.

You can view our webinars and watch videos to help you learn more about different faiths and spirituality. These are a great way to understand beliefs, reflect personally, or learn something new.
