Your safety matters. From going to classes or living in university accommodation to spending time on campus, our teams, tools, and tips are here to help you feel safe and supported.
Protection Services
Coventry University has a dedicated Protection Services team. These trained officers work around the clock to help keep everyone safe on campus. If you're living at Bishop Gate or Godiva Place, you also have a team based at your accommodation who are ready to help if you need them.

Meet the team
The Protection Services team run safety drop-ins and roadshows on campus and in university accommodation. You can also speak to any of our patrolling officers. They’re friendly and happy to help. Their top tips:
- Be aware of your surroundings, especially if you’re walking alone.
- Try not to use headphones or your phone while walking.
- Plan your routes in advance.
- Don’t leave valuables unattended.
- Cover your PIN at cash machines and stay alert.
- Use a UV pen to mark your valuables with your name and student ID (available from Protection Services).
- If you think someone is following you, go into a shop or public place and wait until you feel safe.
