After each assessment period your results will be considered by a Progression and Awards Board (PAB). These boards consider the results of each student on a course and makes decisions about continuation, progression and awards.
What you need to know
- Results are provisional until they are confirmed by a PAB and officially released on the Student On-line Academic Record system (SOLAR).
- External examiners (independent experts from outside the University) attend PABs to review samples of marked students’ work and teaching and learning materials. This is part of a national system that ensures fairness and consistency across UK universities.
- After the PAB has made its decision about your progression on your course or your final award, you’ll get an email to your University account letting you know your results are available on the SOLAR.
- You can also view your full transcript via your Higher Education Achievement Report.
Provisional results
Some results may appear in your online learning environment before they’re confirmed. These are not final until they are approved by the PAB and published on SOLAR.
