Step 1: Accept your offer
When you get your offer via email, follow the instructions to accept your place. This unlocks access to the student portal and starts the enrolment process.
Step 2: Pay your tuition fees (if you're self-funding)
- UK students: If you're using Student Finance, your tuition fees will be paid directly to us. If you're self-funding, you’ll need to pay through the Online Payment Portal.
- International students: You need to pay a tuition deposit before you can enrol. Use Convera GlobalPay to make secure, trackable payments. Avoid direct bank transfers as they can delay processing.
Step 3: Attend a Credibility Interview (if required)
Some international students may be invited to a credibility interview after paying their tuition deposit. This is part of the university’s visa risk assessment process and helps confirm your genuine intention to study in the UK. If you're selected, you’ll receive an invitation with details on how to book and prepare.
Step 4: Get your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) (international students only)
When we have your deposit and all your offer conditions are met, you’ll get your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS). You need this for your visa application and enrolment.
Step 5: Apply for your visa (international students only)
Once you’ve received your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), you can apply for your UK Student Visa. This is a crucial step that allows you to travel to the UK and begin your studies.
Apply online through the UK Government website and book your biometric appointment. Make sure to apply early, as visa processing can take several weeks.
Step 6: Check your enrolment and RTS deadlines (international students only)
To make sure everything runs smoothly, it’s important to complete your Right to Study (RTS) check and online enrolment before the deadline for your intake. Deadlines may vary depending on your course and intake, so always check your emails and the website for the most up-to-date information. Missing these deadlines could delay your start or affect your visa status.
Step 7: Plan and make your arrival in the UK
(international students only)
Make sure you arrive in the UK before your Right to Study (RTS) check and enrolment deadlines. Give yourself enough time to settle in, adjust to your new environment, and attend any welcome events or orientation sessions. Arriving early helps you feel more prepared and gives you time to handle any unexpected issues before your course begins.
Step 8: Complete your Right to Study (RTS) check (international students only)
Before you can enrol, you need to complete a Right to Study (RTS) check in person at your campus. This is a legal requirement under UKVI regulations.
You’ll need to bring:
- Your passport and visa
- If you have a digital e-visa, you must also bring:
- A PDF or screenshot of your immigration status
- A share code to prove your status online
- Your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) statement
- Any qualifications listed in your CAS
- Proof of UK address (if requested)
- Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) certificate (if applicable)
- Parental consent (if under 18)
This step has to be done on campus before your enrolment can be finalised.
Step 9: Enrol online
When you're eligible, you’ll get a link to complete your online enrolment. It will ask you to:
- Confirm your personal details
- Verify your course
- Upload any documents we need
After this, you’ll gain access to your student email, Aula online learning platform, and other university systems.
Step 10: Collect your student ID card
When you're enrolled, you’ll be able to collect your student ID card on campus. This gives you access to university buildings, libraries, and printing services. It's also your key to student discounts!
Step 11: Access your timetable and induction
After enrolment, you’ll get your personalised timetable and access to your induction module. These will help you get familiar with your course, meet your tutors, and settle into university life.
