Getting your UK student visa
You’ll need a Student Visa to study with us in the UK.
You can apply when you have your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS). Your CAS is valid for 6 months and includes a number that you’ll need for your visa application.
When to apply
You can apply for your visa up to 6 months before your course starts.
You’ll usually get a decision within 3 weeks, although it can take longer depending on where you live.
Check current processing times on the UK Government website.
Visa costs
You can check the cost of your visa on the UK Government website.
You'll also need to pay the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS), which gives you access to NHS healthcare while you're in the UK.
Arriving in the UK
- For courses of 6 months or less (not including Pre-Sessional English), you can arrive up to 1 week before your course starts.
- For courses of over 6 months or if your course includes Pre-Sessional English, you can arrive up to 1 month before your course starts.
