Safeguarding and Prevent

Safeguarding

We all share the responsibility to keep everyone in our student community safe and well. All staff and students follow a code of behaviour that means if they see something worrying, they must report it.

The university has a legal duty to protect children, adults at risk, and stop people being drawn into terrorism. This is called the Prevent duty, monitored by the Office for Students.

Prevent means spotting when someone might be at risk of being drawn into harmful activities and helping them get the right support before things get worse.

What to do

If you have any concerns about someone’s safety or wellbeing, you can report it confidentially to your Wellbeing Team at welfare.ss@coventry.ac.uk

We run regular safeguarding drop-in sessions, both in person and online, where you can get advice or raise concerns.
