The CILEx route to becoming a lawyer is low cost, flexible and quick. At CU Coventry the Graduate Fast Track qualification will only take you 6 months to complete.
Why choose this course?
Taking the Chartered Legal Executive lawyer route means you can earn-as-you-learn and gain valuable practical experience as classes are delivered on Saturdays and in the evenings.
The CILEx Level 6 Graduate Fast-track Diploma is for law graduates e.g. LLB (Bachelor of Laws) and Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) who wish to qualify as lawyers without undertaking the more expensive Legal Practice Course (LPC) or Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) routes. There is no requirement to secure a training contract or pupillage when taking the CILEx route to becoming a lawyer. Graduates qualify and practise as Chartered Legal Executive Lawyers and they stand shoulder to shoulder with Solicitors in the legal sector.
The CILEx Graduate Fast Track is comprised of two CILEx Level 6 Practice units (one of which must relate to a subject you studied within your law degree or GDL) and the CILEx Level 6 Client Care Skills unit which is mandatory.
The units offered by CU Coventry are given below:
- Unit 22: Client Care Skills
- Unit 18: Criminal Litigation or Civil Litigation
- Unit 20: The Practice of Family Law
Optional Modules (subject to numbers):
- Unit 21: Probate Practice
- Unit 17: Conveyancing
- Unit 19: Employment Practice
For more information on the qualification the CILEx handbook provides a comprehensive guide, setting out information about the content of the qualifications, the examinations and assessments.
