Get your tech ready

Avoid access issues on your first day by checking your devices and logins ahead of time.

If you cannot access a system now, it is best to sort it before teaching begins so you are not delayed in Week 1.

Things to do

  • Log into your email, SOLAR, Aula and library accounts
  • Reset your password if needed
  • Install or update any required software (e.g. Microsoft Office, course-specific apps)
  • Make sure your laptop or device is working and updated.

Why this matters

Most teaching and communication will begin immediately. Being locked out or unable to access systems can delay important tasks.

Something not working?

You can visit the Digital Experience Centre without an appointment from Monday to Friday between 9am - 12:30pm and 1:30pm - 5pm

You can also book a timed face-to-face appointment with us in the Digital Experience Centre from Monday to Friday between 9am -12:30pm and 1:30pm - 5pm via the Digital Service Centre Portal.

Tip: We’re closed for staff meetings between 3pm - 4pm on Wednesdays, and our Digital Experience Centre is usually closed on Bank Holidays and between Christmas and New Year.

Telephone appointments

You can also book timed call-backs from us via the Digital Service Centre Portal. Our weekday booking slots run from 12:00am - 3:30pm (UK time). Unfortunately, we don’t offer appointments during Bank Holidays, but you can still contact us through our portal.
