Our PGCE with iQTS: SEND is a specialised teacher training programme designed for aspiring educators working, or on placement, in schools outside of England who want to develop expertise in inclusive education.

This internationally recognised qualification prepares you to meet the growing global demand for skilled professionals who can effectively support learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Course details

There are two theoretical modules of study and three Professional Practice modules, enabling you to put pedagogy into practice and problem-solve in the classroom.

Entry requirements

Applicants must:

  • Hold an undergraduate degree, or equivalent as assessed by UK ENIC.
  • Be employed in (for trainees on an Employed route) or have arranged placements within (for trainees on a Non-Employed route), a school in the relevant age phase.

Students may be subject to satisfactory health clearance which will be coordinated by Coventry University. Applicants will be responsible for obtaining their own police checks for the country they are training in.

English language requirements

  • IELTS: 6.5 or higher, with no component less than 5.5, (or equivalent), or TOEFL 600, or to have completed some of your education, for example, a degree, in English.
