Graduate Refer a Friend Scheme

Graduate Refer a Friend Scheme

As a CU alumni, you’ve experienced first-hand the advantages of studying a course with a difference and you know what it takes to succeed.

That is why we are introducing our Graduate Refer a Friend Scheme. We would like to thank our alumni who have successfully graduated and who recommend CU to their family, friends, and colleagues.

If the person you refer enrols on an applicable CU course, pays the required tuition fees and successfully completes the first two study blocks, we will reward you with £500.

We are proud of our alumni and the work that they do. We hope you can help us expand the CU family so we can support other learners like you.

The basic scheme criteria will be:

Our CU Graduate Refer a Friend Scheme ('the RAF Scheme') is designed to recognise and reward alumni who refer new students to CU.

  • This Scheme is open to CU alumni only, who have successfully graduated from a full-time or part-time undergraduate course, foundation year course, access to higher education course or top-up course.
  • Some alumni may be excluded from applying (see Eligibility Criteria section for details).

The RAF Scheme will run from 01/01/2023 to 01/12/2024.

  • Eligibility criteria for referrers

    • This Scheme is open to CU alumni only, who have successfully graduated from a full-time or part-time undergraduate course, foundation year course, access to higher education course or top-up course.
    • Some alumni may be excluded from applying (see below for eligibility).

    Eligibility criteria for referred students

    • Referred Students must be new students who have not previously enrolled on any Coventry University Group programme or course within the past 3 years, or have received a Coventry University degree through an international collaborator.
    • Referred Students must identify their alumni Referrer upon application to CU via our direct application form.
    • Applicants applying via agents or those studying/who have studied with an international collaborator are not eligible.
    • Referred Students must enrol on an Applicable CU Course.
    • For the Referrers to qualify for a reward - the Referred Students must successfully register and be accepted onto their Applicable CU Course, successfully complete their first 2 teaching blocks and be up to date with their tuition fee payments.
    • Some Referred Students may be excluded from participating in this Scheme (see below 'Who Is Not Eligible to Participate').

Who is not eligible to participate?

    • Employees of the Coventry University Group or its subsidiaries (including full-time, part-time and associate staff who are contracted to the University) are prohibited from participation in this Scheme, either as a Referrer or as a Referred Student.
    • Recruitment Agents (i.e. individuals or representatives of organisations, acting in an agency capacity who generate income from identifying potential international students and facilitating their application and enrolment at education institutions) with whom Coventry University Group has a working relationship or existing contractual agreement.
    • Referred Students who enrol at a CU location through an ‘agency’ will not be considered as valid referrals under this Scheme. By the word ‘agency’, we mean any organisation or individual agent which supports the recruitment of students to CU Group and receives a commission for doing so. Note: Referred Students who subsequently take up the services of a recruitment agent after being referred as part of this Scheme, would thereby invalidate a referral.
    • Referrers will receive a financial reward of £500 (made via a direct bank transfer) once the Referred Student has successfully completed their first two study blocks and have paid the relevant tuition fees. The Referrers bank details will be requested via a secure email form.
    • Referrers can choose to donate this reward (in part or in full) to Coventry University Group’s Student Hardship Fund.
    • Referrers can make any number of applications under the Scheme between 01/01/2023 to 01/12/2023.
    • Reward payments for each successful referral application under the Scheme may be subject to tax according to the laws of the country of residence of the Referrer.
    • Rewards are made to Referrers on a first-come-first-served basis (i.e. if a student is referred by more than one Referrer, the first referral will be deemed the only valid one).
    • CU Group reserves the right to alter the terms and conditions of the Scheme, or withdraw the Scheme at any time without prior notice.
    • CU Group’s decision on the interpretation of eligibility criteria and discretion to make a payment is final. There is no right of appeal.
    • CU Group reserves the right to terminate and/or demand repayment of funds made to a recipient in error.
    • CU Group reserves the right to reject an application from anyone who is found to have misled CU Group about any aspect of their eligibility and to seek repayment of any monies already paid by appropriate means.
  • Once your friend has made their application to CU, you will need to complete the application form below. You will need:

    • Your name and student ID
    • Your friend’s name and student ID or UCAS ID
    • The CU location your friend will be studying at
