Course overview

The apprenticeship model is an exciting contemporary development for social work training and education which typically takes three years to complete on a full-time basis. This provides apprentices with the opportunity to undertake the degree while remaining in employment. Apprentices undertake off-the-job learning equivalent to approximately one day a week, completing academic learning tasks which are closely applied to their work-based learning within social work employer agencies.

This apprenticeship is approved by Social Work England. Subject to meeting Social Work England’s requirements, on successful completion of this course, apprentices will be eligible to apply to Social Work England to register as a social worker* (additional costs apply).
