If you want to be a primary teacher we can help. The BA Hons Primary Education is a three-year school-based degree course that offers graduates Qualified Teacher Status.

If you are in a primary school and have your school’s support, you may be able do the fully funded Teacher Degree Apprenticeship. You will be employed as an Unqualified Teacher while you complete this three-year apprenticeship. This is not yet available for the secondary phase.

If you have your school’s support, you may be able to do the fully funded Postgraduate Teacher Apprenticeship. You will be employed as an Unqualified Teacher while you complete this one-year apprenticeship. Available for Primary, Secondary and SEND, full-time or part-time.

NITE’s PGCE with QTS is distinct because you would be based in schools for the whole of your course, with the academic learning delivered online. Unlike many providers, we are happy for you to find your own placement. But if you join the course in September, we offer to find you a suitable placement school within one-hour's travel of your postcode.

If you are already contracted as an UQT and have a degree, then speak to your school about the fully funded Postgraduate Teacher Apprenticeship. You could qualify in just twelve months. Please note that you cannot do this if you are working with an agency.

If you are currently teaching and have taught in more than one school, you could qualify for the Assessment Only Route to QTS. This is not a taught course but an assessment of your practice against the DfE’s Teacher Standards.
