Introducing Dawn McGregor

Hello, my name is Dawn and I am a student success coach. I’ve worked in many different fields in both the public and private sector, predominantly in financial services and project management. From my various roles I have been fortunate to meet many different individuals from all walks of life which has helped me to always keep an open mind.

What have you enjoyed the most about this course?

I enjoyed the blended learning format most. The monthly workshops were incredibly valuable, as they allowed me to connect with my peers, share insights, and grow together as coaches.

At the same time, the flexibility of the online resources meant I could learn at my own pace, revisiting materials whenever I needed to deepen my understanding. This balance between structure and independence made the learning experience not only effective but also enjoyable.

What have you learned about yourself during the course?

This course has been as much a journey of self-discovery as it has been a professional one. Throughout the course, I’ve developed greater self-awareness, understanding my strengths as a coach and recognising areas for growth.

More importantly, I’ve come to appreciate my ability to adapt, take on challenges and remain open to feedback – qualities that have helped me build confidence as a coach.

How has the structure of the course helped you?

The structure suited my learning style. The blend of monthly workshops allowed me to interact with fellow learners, which helped create a sense of community and shared growth. Meanwhile, the online resources were always available for me to dive into on my own time.

I also found the quarterly progress reviews invaluable. These reviews kept me on track, offering regular feedback and ensuring I was progressing, not just at my own pace, but in line with the course’s objectives. The structure gave me both flexibility and accountability.

What has the support from NITE been like?

The support from NITE has been fabulous. The tutors were consistently available and approachable, always willing to provide guidance and clarify any doubts I had. Whether it was through email or a quick message, they made sure I never felt alone in our journey. This constant support system gave me the confidence to explore new techniques and approaches, knowing that help was always just a click away. Their commitment was truly reassuring.

Has the course impacted your own achievements and ambitions?

Absolutely! Completing this course has not only expanded my coaching toolkit but has also deepened my understanding of what it means to be an effective coach. I now feel more confident and well-prepared to take on clients and navigate the coaching process with a broader perspective.

Professionally, the course has opened up new opportunities for me and shifted my ambitions. I have used this experience to help organise my time and I am presently on my third book of a children’s series called Colourland.

What would your advice be to anyone considering this course?

If you’re considering this course, my advice would be to dive in with an open mind and a willingness to grow. This apprenticeship offers not only practical coaching skills but also an incredible opportunity for personal development.

The course’s flexible structure makes it easy to fit into your schedule, and the support from the tutors will ensure you never feel left behind. It's a comprehensive and fulfilling programme that equips you with everything you need to thrive in the coaching profession.

If you're serious about becoming a skilled and confident coach, this course will be a game-changer for you.
