The National School of Education and Teaching

Coronavirus update
Following significant new measures announced by the Prime Minister on Monday 23 March, we have now closed our Coventry campus.
The National School of Education and Teaching service is continuing as normal and we are committed to responding to enquiries and processing applications.

We believe that trust in the teaching sector, and its profile, are impacted by the quality of teachers’ initial training and their continuing professional development.

A respected and highly regarded education sector is underpinned by training, which is relevant to teaching today, continuous, of the highest quality, resourced sensibly and led by expert teachers. Our aim is to set the standard in teacher training, in the UK and globally, and in doing so, raise the profile of teaching and education around the world.

We are accredited by the Department for Education (DfE) in England to recommend the award of Qualified Teacher Status, and Postgraduate Initial Teacher Training forms a core part of our offer. The course is:

Distinct and available nationwide: all but a week of the course is spent in schools, which allows students to study and train in a location suitable for them.

Flexible:  students can be full-time on placement in schools or employed/salaried in schools. The course is also available part-time and has multiple start-dates throughout the year.

Appealing for Schools: a school’s Apprenticeship Levy can fund course fees for the employed/salaried route.  We can also help schools recruit for their teaching vacancies.

For prospective students and school partners, more details on all of our courses and training are available below. If you would like any additional information, or have any questions, please get in touch with us and we will happily help.

We are also keen to hear from SCITTs, School Direct Partnerships and Teaching School Alliances, as we have designed a PGCE which caters for your needs.
