Welcome to the National School of Education and Teaching (NSET).
NSET is a leading global provider of initial teacher training and postgraduate degrees in education and educational leadership. We are accredited by the Department for Education (DfE) in England to recommend the award of Qualified Teacher Status.
Our aim is to positively impact on school improvement by developing and delivering a breadth of postgraduate degrees, training and professional development, which are relevant and of practical value to aspiring and current teachers and school leaders.
We believe that trust in the teaching sector, and its profile, are influenced by the quality of teachers’ initial and continued training. A respected and highly regarded education sector is underpinned by training which is applicable to teaching today. That training is continuous, grounded in pertinent research, resourced sensibly and led by professionals who are experts in their field. Our aim is to set the standard within teacher training, in the UK and globally, and in doing so raise the profile of teaching and education around the world.
There are a number of ways of operating successfully as a leader, but the crucial element is to understand one's own strengths and weaknesses and act appropriately. Many key leadership skills, however, can be taught – and we are very good at teaching them.
Our Master’s degree in Educational Leadership has been written and is led by successful head teachers and senior education leaders, who have combined their experience in leading schools and the sector with extensive research in leadership theory. The result is a taught course which will expose you to real leadership expertise, and supports you to realise your potential.
Initial Teacher Training in England
Our PGCE with QTS course is:
Distinct and available nationwide: all but a week of the course is spent in schools, allowing students to study and train in a location suitable for them.
Flexible: students can be full-time on placement or employed/salaried in schools. The course is also available part time and has multiple start-dates throughout the year.
Appealing for schools: a school’s apprenticeship levy can fund course fees for the employed/salaried route. We can also help schools recruit for their teaching vacancies.
