The Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills forms the foundation of professional counselling practice. This course will create opportunities to develop listening and communication skills helping you on your way to becoming a qualified counsellor.

This course is designed for those who want to develop counselling skills to help others in a personal, voluntary or an employed capacity, providing the first steps in training to become a counsellor.
The course will be beneficial to those who want to become more self-aware or that wish to work within a helping role. We will outline the role and responsibilities of a counsellor and as such this qualification is intended for those who want to learn counselling or helping skills. This course (CSK-L2) may help students decide whether or not to commit to higher levels of study in this subject area.

- Establishing and sustaining boundaries
- Working empathically as a helper
- Focusing on the helpee’s needs and concerns
- Using self awareness
- Using a range of counselling skills to facilitate the helping interaction
- Using feedback and reflection to enhance counselling skills
Teaching contact hours
This is a 15 week course that will be delivered on Saturdays 9am-3.30pm.
