Role: Initial Teacher Training: Visiting Assessors - Primary & Secondary (all subjects)

Location: Nationwide & International | Closing date: Ongoing

This is an exciting opportunity to join Coventry University’s National School of Education and Teaching as a Visiting Assessor to our school-based trainee teachers. Applications are welcome from serving and former teachers and school leaders, as well as current freelance consultants.

Our trainee teachers are based across England. We are looking to build a pool of Assessors at Primary level and across the Secondary subject range in each region of the country. We also have trainee teachers based in schools abroad, so there is the opportunity for some international travel for Assessors who are interested. Our Assessors include current teachers who undertake this work for their own Continued Professional Development (CPD), retired teachers and school leaders, and freelance former teachers. The number of assessments can vary according to your desired commitment.

We will be pleased to accept applications from interested Assessors in all locations in England. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates in the following areas:

  • London (including Barking & Dagenham)
  • Kent
  • Yorkshire
  • Nottinghamshire
  • Derbyshire
  • Leicestershire
  • Northamptonshire
  • Birmingham
  • Warwickshire
  • Bedfordshire & Milton Keynes
  • Cumbria
  • Northumberland
  • Hertfordshire
  • Wiltshire
  • Gloucestershire
  • Hampshire
  • Dorset
  • Cambridgeshire
  • Norfolk

Assessors will need to have experience of observing teachers, making accurate judgements on the quality of teaching and feeding back to trainee teachers.

Interested applicants can forward a full CV to teaching.nset@coventry.ac.uk with a brief covering letter outlining their experience in lesson observations and in which subjects / school phase they are interested in.
