Choose us for Apprenticeship End Point Assessment
If you are a training provider offering the L6 Teacher Apprenticeship, the National Institute of Teaching and Education is a great choice to be your End Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO).
As an approved independent EPAO, we conduct the End Point Assessment for postgraduate teaching apprentices in primary and secondary phases for employers nationwide.
As your EPAO, our experienced team will provide:
- live online training and guidance on the requirements of the EPA process
- assessment slots throughout the year
- assessors who are specialists in teacher training, and selected as phase and subject experts
- support for apprentices, mentors and managers
- rigorous and robust independent assessment
- detailed reports.
An EPAO must be appointed at least three months before completing the apprenticeship.
Costs
Costs are calculated with each Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeship provider.

Frequently asked questions
We were initially drawn to Coventry University’s National Institute of Teaching and Education (NITE), as they undertake End Point Assessments for the Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeship nationwide. The expert service provided was first-rate and professional throughout. Staff provided detailed guidance and support on the process to both university staff, apprentices and employers.
Due to our high numbers of trainees, it was particularly pertinent that NITE has a significant number of experienced Assessors within their Initial Teacher Training team that could accommodate our requests and needs.
NITE showed great flexibility in arranging assessment schedules and produced high quality reports – with concise examples and evaluative comments that reflected the extent to which the apprentices had met the Teachers’ Standards.
