More about Javeria

 Javeria Anwar

Islamabad, Pakistan

I always had a personal interest in the fashion industry, but I hadn’t previously had the opportunity to study and learn more about it. I was looking for a course that would help me pursue my dream.

The education system at Coventry University London is unique. It’s very friendly. You study and gain experience at the same time, which is good for your CV and your future career. There is a good balance between the corporate world and your education. It goes hand in hand which you won’t really find in most other universities. It’s a great opportunity for you to grow and gain practical experience.

University is a great experience where you can learn and have a social life. It’s something that will stay with you for the rest of your life, and you will cherish it after your course is over. I would say to anyone who’s thinking about university to just go for it.

I’ve had amazing lecturers and I’ve always been given that extra layer of support. Having a small number of people in the class helps you because you can interact and develop a connection with your supervisor – they know where your capabilities lie and they’re always pushing you forwards.

Being a Student Ambassador has helped me a lot as I had the opportunity to work in the marketing department. It has been a great honour to be part of the university as a student and as an employee.

Previously I did my bachelors in London, so I already had a personal connection to the city. Being at Coventry University London has made it even more possible to do what I want to do in the fashion industry. Social and networking events have really played a part. We’ve been given the opportunity to meet a lot of employers and other professionals which has been great.
