Dr Gissa Izadi

Gissa Izadi is an economic development specialist and academic focussed on the Middle East and North Africa region. She is currently a lecturer at Coventry University London teaching various under-and- postgraduate level modules.

After receiving her MA in international business economics, she moved to university to study Arabic, during this time she also worked in various charities to pursue her philanthropic interests. She also has experience in consultancy in several international organisations such as Amnesty International and International Iranian Economic Association (IIEA).

She then moved to Iran, where she had both consultancy and managerial roles in companies in various industries such as Kouhsar Recreation Company, Toos Gypsum Factory. In 2010 she was awarded the diploma for the youngest managers in hospitality industry. Currently she is a member of board of directors in Kousar Recreation Company, which is a one of the largest private companies in hospitality industry in Iran.

Research and Consultancy

​​​Gissa’s areas of interests are financial markets in the MENA region with a special focus on Iran; SDGs with a focus on SDG8; international development economics; quantitative and qualitative research and analysis; Family Business; and labour economics in MENA.
