Background

Abubakar Zayyana held PhD in Accounting and Finance from the University of Bedfordshire; with more than 6 years of academic experience. He also completed business courses at the Harvard Business School and University of Cambridge. Dr Zayyana is passionate about working with students from diverse international and educational background. He is currently involved in developing, teaching, and marking modules related to Accounting and Finance at the Coventry University London.

Dr Zayyana is associated with supervising and marking internships and dissertations of both UG and PG students. He is currently the Course Director for Level 4 BA (Hons) International Finance and Accounting. His main goal is to use research-led teaching to improve student experience and motivating them to achieve their potential as well as prepare them for their professional development. Previously, Dr Zayyana was a deputy Director of Finance at the Ministry of Work, Sokoto, Nigeria.

Research and Consultancy

Dr Zayyana’s main research interest is around Corporate Governance, Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainability, Fraud Management. He is also interested in Capital Market research especially in finding the link between earnings announcement and share prices. He is currently a reviewer of the Journal of Law and Social Studies (JLSS).
