Foundation year courses

If you don’t quite meet our regular entry requirements, earned your qualifications a long time ago, or just want to change career direction, you should explore one of our foundation level courses.

It's your way in if you’re a few grades short, as well as being a great way to build the confidence, skills and knowledge needed to study your chosen undergraduate course.

Degree with foundation year courses

A degree with foundation year gives you a direct, accessible route to your desired higher education path. It's a four-year undergraduate course that includes an additional year of study at the start. This foundation year is designed to give you the necessary knowledge and skills to progress onto degree-level study.

Healthcare foundation courses

Nursing Associate Foundation Degree

The foundation degree that is on offer at our CU Scarborough campus is designed to meet the educational requirements for the Nursing Associate role. Upon successful completion, students may be able to register as a Nursing Associate with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). It may also provide a pathway to other nursing roles.

Nursing and Allied Health Professions Foundation Year

A standalone foundation year offers an introductory route to your chosen degree subject. It's an introduction to the subject you're interested in and aims to help you develop the skills needed for degree-level study. Upon successfully passing your foundation year, you will be guaranteed a place on a relevant degree at your existing CU campus or if you prefer, at another Coventry University Group location (subject to course availability).
