Your first weeks

We are delighted that you have chosen to study with us and we can’t wait to get started. You will receive a variety of emails and instructions on how to enrol and access our systems, including your timetable. Below is key information on what’s on during Welcome Week on 15 May 2023. Teaching Block 5 starts on Monday 15 May 2023.


Welcome week at CU London Greenwich

We will be hosting a formal Welcome to CU London Greenwich that will include a tour of the facilities, and an opportunity to meet other students and staff from a range of services and academic disciplines.

Please note that your Induction to CU London Greenwich will take place on Monday 15 May 2023. You will be given an induction talk and a tour of the building. Outside of the Welcome talk and tours, you will also have the opportunity to ask any queries you may have. All you need to do is to report to the main reception desk on 10 Floor of 6 Mitre Passage in North Greenwich.

Meet the Welfare & Disability Team

The Welfare and Disability Team will be available on site to discuss how we can assist you with any concerns or issues relating to Welfare and Disability. All students have access to a Welfare Adviser who can offer support by providing a broad range of advice and guidance on personal, practical, and emotional issues.

Support and guidance are also provided for students with disabilities and long-term health conditions. This includes assistance with the Disabled Student’s Allowance (DSA). Come and speak with us to see how we can help and support you and to learn more about our service. More information

Student success coaches

Our Student Success Coaches are available to support you throughout your student journey, not just during the first few weeks. Why not come and see us to discuss the services we offer and how we can help you make the most of your time while studying with us. We can support you find ways to manage your studies, as well as any other commitments you may have. We can guide you to develop your skills which may include directing you to relevant opportunities that are available and a wide range of services you can access.  

Our team is focused on helping you unlock your full potential to maximize your growth and development in both your educational and personal goals. We offer 1-to-1 solution focused sessions that are tailored to your specific goals and ways to achieve them. We work together with you to create a Student-led Success Plan that you are comfortable with, to help you identify and achieve your goals and aspirations. We care about your holistic wellbeing so even if you want to just come by and have a chat about matters that are not academically related, we are here to listen.

Additionally, we can assist you in downloading the Vygo app, which is a Peer Mentoring app. This app allows you to connect with fellow students in CU Coventry, CU London and CU Scarborough, providing you with the opportunity to expand your network further.

Meet the Talent Team – Your Careers Service!

The Talent Team aims to provide you with a new type of professional careers and employability support throughout your journey with us. Not only do we aim to guide you towards a successful graduate life, but we also aim to serve your individual needs and aspirations by providing the right kind of career support, from enrolment to graduation and beyond. We look after all activities related to support, career development and advice, employer engagement, and core skills development.

Below are some of the ways in which our team can help you:

  • proactive, personalised engagement and support through 1-to-1 appointments
  • support with CV writing and job application processes
  • advice and guidance on UK and International internship options available, with support throughout the process
  • course-embedded employability skills, including employer input where appropriate
  • support with discussions around further study and training
  • specialist support up to 24 months from the end of your course
