On Wednesday 18th July, postgraduate Fashion students worked together to organise Coventry University London’s first Fashion Summit. Comprising a trade show for the brand Here Today Here Tomorrow, a panel discussion from three Fashion alumni who secured jobs in the industry, and an afternoon tea party, the student-led event was a resounding success.

The Fashion students worked hard to plan an event that would attractively display the range of Fashion courses available at Coventry University London. Each course displayed textbooks and examples of work, whilst a student from the course was present to discuss any questions others had about it. Guests were invited to browse through examples of current work, and ask questions to the students who had organised the displays.

Alongside advertising Fashion courses, the event also hosted a trade show for Here Today Here Tomorrow. This was a student-designed stall aimed at promoting and selling a sustainable knitwear brand. The concept, layout, and design of the trade show was created entirely by students, bringing together the creative and business sides of the fashion courses.

Also invited were three Fashion alumni who have now successfully secured jobs in the industry. The alumni panel answered questions from our students about their time studying at Coventry University London, how they found jobs, and how the university had prepared them to enter the world of work. This informative session inspired students and guests, showing what is achievable through working hard on our Fashion courses.
