Postgraduate students at Coventry University London Campus studying MBA Oil and Gas Management took part in a practice role play simulation as part of the term two International Environmental Law Module.

The simulation took place as a one day activity where students were able to put into practice all aspects they've been taught during their engagement in the module. It also provided them with the opportunity to develop leadership and managerial skills throughout the course of the activity.

The students worked in five different teams (Kritchnit and Green Community, Coco FRHB and Media Today, Covern Oil and Envirogreen, Zania Government ZNPC and PGRC ,and Malini and Zania Star) whilst taking on a variety of roles which included acting as the government of an oil producing country, the management team of an oil company, media representatives, community representatives and  environmental NGO representatives.

Teaching Fellow Nnaemeka Madumere said:

“Students thoroughly enjoyed the role play activity. It gave them clear insights into challenges that are faced within the Oil and Gas/ Energy industry whilst developing their theoretical, practical and teamwork skills.”

Examples of the students work can be found on their blog Media Today.
