All degree courses at Coventry University London offer work experience opportunities for students who are interested in gaining practical experience. Recently a number of our fashion students have undertaken successful internships; read more below to find out about their experiences:

Sofie Hybschmann

“I completed my internship at Karla Otto, a PR agency. I found the experience really useful because it helped me decide what career path to pursue, and gave me the opportunity to find out if PR was an industry that suited me. During my internship, I experienced a lot, meeting clients, conducting presentations, working on lookbooks, and working in different departments.”

Claudia Law

“During my internship, I worked with a high-end British womenswear designer, working on digital marketing of the brand. This was my first experience working with social media professionally, and gave me the chance to learn to manage a project and create better and engaging content to promote the brand. The designer will be taking part in London Fashion Week 2017, and it was really exciting to be working with such a high-profile brand.”

Julia Galvez

“I had the chance to work for a distributor of luxury resortwear and activewear. I led on organising the trade show SPLASH in Paris, an exhibition showcasing over 200 brands. During this internship I had the chance to build communication and professional skills, explaining brands to an international audience, while co-ordinating digital marketing and PR.”

Yugege Jin

“My internship took place with a Chinese-founded fashion brand which operates in the UK, and has presented at London Fashion Week for a number of years. I worked in the Fashion Press, Sales, and Admin teams, gaining a lot of experience networking with stylists and editors. I really enjoyed learning how the fashion industry and marketing campaigns really work, and found it very useful learning to put theories into practice in the real world.”

Yanis Idjeraoui

“For my internship, I took on a role with a luxury fashion brand, offering bespoke and wholesale hats. I assisted with management of a large hat event at Royal Ascot, while working on producing marketing materials and managing customer accounts. This experience developed my experience dealing with customers and clients, learning to market and display merchandise, and working on independent projects."
