Many international students MUST register with the Overseas Visitors section of the Police within 7 days of their arrival in the UK. If you are required to register with the Police, this requirement will be printed on your visa sticker. It is a legal requirement that you register if you are told to do so. Failure to register is a criminal offence and could lead to prosecution, a fine of up to £5,000 or a ban from the UK so please be aware that it is a very important matter. Any family members who have the requirement to register stamped in their passport must also register with the police. You will be able to get help and support in making the arrangements once you arrive. This information will be available at the welcome sessions for international students and from the Student Information desk at Coventry University London. You can also find more information here.
