School of Media and Performing Arts

There is so much creativity to enjoy across a month of events.

At the heart of all our Media and Performing Arts events lies the university’s mission: championing collaboration and innovation to create better futures.

During the 2024 showcase, visitors had the opportunity to see beautiful photography works displayed outside on our award-winning sustainable campus by Starley Gardens; become immersed in surprising virtual worlds captured by the virtual reality (VR) headsets in our digital studio spaces; enjoy the vibe of live music and theatre shows as we screen our students’ performances in Square One; explore the thought-provoking writing and compelling films and videos of our many other talented students displayed on digital plinths in our TV Studio – The Tank.

All our students work with their future careers in the creative industries in mind – they are the storytellers of our future - shaping the content that will excite, challenge and provoke us in the decades to come. We are delighted that we were joined by recent alumni from all our courses at the awards ceremony in Square One on Thursday 2 May, to recognise the outstanding work of our second- and third-year students.

This year’s Media and Performing Arts showcase featured the Pop Music Festival in the City during which our final year Popular Music and Songwriting BA (Hons) students performed at selected venues. The Student Showcase Conference, the Coventry Phoenix Film Festival , Encore Acting Festival with the grand finale in early May of the Awards show and exhibition of student work.
