Ceremonies and celebrations
Your graduation is the culmination of your studies and is an important event for you, your family, and friends. Your graduation ceremony will take place in Coventry Cathedral during which you’ll hear from esteemed faculty and academic members and receive your graduation certificate.
The spring graduation ceremonies for our Coventry University and CU Coventry students will take place over 3 days in March. (For those studying at other entities in Coventry University Group, including Scarborough, London, Poland and Coventry University London Campus please check your specific websites for graduation information).

How long does each ceremony last?
Each ceremony lasts for approximately one hour.

What happens if I arrive late?
We suggest you arrive at Coventry University at least two and a half hours before your ceremony start time (please check the schedule for ticket desk opening times). The ticket desk will close 30 minutes before the start time of each ceremony. If you arrive after this time it is too late for you to attend that ceremony. There is a process which needs to be followed, prior to the commencement of the ceremony which the graduation team need to carryout. Anyone arriving after the ticket desk has closed will have had their name removed from the order of proceedings. The University is not responsible for any costs incurred as a result of people arriving late and is not obliged to allow you to attend a later ceremony.
The doors to the Cathedral will close 15 minutes before the start time of each ceremony. If you have collected your tickets, on time, but then do not arrive at the Cathedral on time we reserve the right to refuse entry at this point as we have to ensure we are ready to commence at the appropriate time.
The Celebration Event
When you register for your graduation ceremony, you’ll also be registering for the Graduation Celebration event.
Please note due to limited capacity at Square One, we cannot guarantee entry to the celebration event, we recommend coming straight after your ceremony.
Graduates and guests are also welcome to enjoy the bar and café facilities at The Hub throughout the day.
To celebrate your accomplishments, you and your guests are invited to the Graduation Celebration event at The Hub. The event is one of the day’s many highlights and is a fantastic opportunity for you to gather with your fellow graduates, family, friends and academic colleagues to reflect on your time at Coventry University and celebrate your bright future ahead. We'll be serving drinks and refreshments for you and your guests.
If you have any questions, or require further information on the celebration event, please email events.mac@coventry.ac.uk.
