January House Hunt

Still looking for accommodation?

For students who are specifically looking for accommodation in the private sector, FutureLets has arranged exclusive House Hunt events from our private lettings portfolio from Monday 15th January 2018. The House Hunt events are solely for new undergraduate and postgraduate students who still need to find accommodation for January. These events also provide the chance to meet other students who are also looking for accommodation.

Tours will leave at 10:30, 12:30 and 2:30 and must be pre booked. If you are interested in attending please email enquiries@futurelets.co.uk and state ‘House Hunt’ in the subject header on the email.

Payment will be required at the time of booking accommodation. When students come to a House Hunt event, we recommend that they are able to cover the cost of the deposit and advanced rent.

What To Bring

You will be able to book accommodation on the House Hunt events, which means you must come prepared to make payment to secure your room. For example, to book a room in a shared house costing £450pcm, you would need to pay on the day:

  • one month's rent of £450
  • deposit of £550 (equivalent to one month's rent plus £100)
  • plus an £80 administration fee

Total: £1080 payable on the House Hunt event.

As such, we advise that you come prepared to pay a minimum of £1100 to secure a room. Please note that we will only be able to accept card payments, and cash will not be accepted.

To secure a room, you will also need to bring:

  • Your academic offer letter
  • Photo ID e.g. passport or driving licence
  • Proof of address
  • Visa (if applicable)
  • You will be required to nominate a suitable UK Guarantor, unless you can pay 6 months' of your rent upfront on the day

If you are nominating a Guarantor, please bring with you the following items:

  • Guarantor's full name
  • Proof of Guarantor's full UK address
  • Guarantor's mobile number
  • Guarantor's email address
  • Guarantor's Photo ID e.g. passport or driving licence

Please bear in mind that Guarantors must be a UK resident AND must earn over £20,000pa to be accepted. Credit checks will be run in order to assess their suitability.

Can't come to a House Hunt event?
