A postgraduate degree offered by Coventry University’s Business School has been ranked as top in its field in Britain and as one of the world’s best in an esteemed global league table for master’s programmes.

The master’s course in sport management has claimed number one spot in the UK for the past three years in the Eduniversal guide, and has now broken into its top 15 worldwide to rank 12th overall – up from 22nd in 2012/13.

Coventry’s new MSc in event management ranked third in the UK in its first entry into the table in the ‘Tourism and Hospitality Management’ category, placing 38th in the world.

The Sport Management MSc also gained international recognition recently when it became the focus of a unique partnership between Coventry University and the prestigious Russian International Olympic University (RIOU) in Sochi – the world's first university dedicated to sport business education.

As part of a joint programme between the universities, students will have the opportunity to study for a double diploma awarded by Coventry and RIOU.

Neville Clements, head of sports and event management at Coventry University, said:

It’s fantastic to see our master’s programmes being recognised in this way by a globally-respected league table, and equally significant that the world’s only university endorsed by the International Olympic Committee has elected to partner with Coventry University.

Through both our Business School’s courses and through our world-renowned Centre for the International Business of Sport, we very much look forward to helping educate and shape the sports industry management professionals of tomorrow, both in the UK and as part of Sochi 2014’s legacy.
