Making friends through societies

One of the biggest parts of Marie’s student life are the Student Union societies. LGBTQIA+, Green and Tabletop societies have all helped her make friends and get involved.

Scarborough is one of the most popular places to visit. She enjoys chilling on the beach, shopping in town and hopping on the train to Leeds and York.

Marie wants to use her Electro-Mechanical Engineering degree to make a difference. She plans to use her maths and science skills to work on environmental projects around the world.

The campus has a great atmosphere. You see people every day that you begin to recognise, even if you're not on the same course. I can speak to my tutor and I know that I will always get the help I need.

I've been really involved at CU Scarborough. Being President of the LGBTQIA+ society I've talked about issues that are really important to me.
