Master of Business Administration (MBA) Top-up for CPA Australia members
The Coventry University Masters of Business Administration (MBA) top-up is delivered 100% online and has been especially designed for (CPA) Australia members who are seeking to expand their managerial capabilities.
This degree has been designed with the intention to provide learners with a better understanding of the challenges that their clients may face, as well as the opportunities that may be open to them. With a strong practitioner focus, personal and skills development is an underlying theme throughout the MBA top-up.
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
The Coventry University MBA is aimed specifically at current or aspiring managers who wish to develop their career. It provides you with the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills required to progress to more senior management and leadership roles. With a strong practitioner focus, personal and career development is an underlying theme running through this course.
The course draws from your current and past experience, ensuring you are constantly applying theory to practice. It aims to enhance your capabilities to think critically, deal with ambiguity, and seek solutions to complex problems. You can develop core knowledge of business models and concepts, and a strong understanding of processes and practices in order to develop your leadership, financial and project management skills.
Learners who are fully qualified CPA Australia members and meet the entry criteria identified below are awarded 120 credits of Accreditation of Prior Learning and will be required to study a further 60 credits online in order to complete the award.
The entry requirements are:
- To be a qualified CPA Australia member (copy of certificate required).
- To have a minimum of two years of post-qualification work experience in a management /administrative/professional capacity (CV and professional reference required).
- To hold an IELTS 6.5 (or equivalent), if English is not the learner's first language (certificate required).
The MBA top-up recognises the prior academic achievement of CPA Australia members by granting learners an advanced standing, allowing them to fast-track to an MBA. CPA Australia members will be required to complete 60 credits through a combination of course work and a project.
Learners are required to study one 15 credit module in their first semester, a second 15-credit module in their second semester and a 30-credit project in their third semester, which completes the course.
The mandatory modules that learners will be required to successfully complete are:
- 7011SSL - Leadership and Change Management (15 credits)
- 7000SMM - Global Marketing (15 credits)
- 7005SSL - The MBA Consultancy Project (30 credits)
A 15-credit module implies a study load of 150 hours, which includes preparation, online participation and group-work, and assignments.
There are currently 3 modules worth 60 credits - they are Leadership and Change Management (15 credits), Global Marketing (15 credits) and Consultancy project (30 credits).
The pro-rated fee for the MBA top-up is normally £5,500 (2020/21 fee).
Through the Coventry University and CPA Australia co-operation, the course fee for CPA's is £5,500 for those commencing in January 2021. This fee can be paid on a pay-per-module basis, as illustrated below:
Semester 1 – Leadership and Change Management = 15 credits - £1,250
Semester 2 – Global Marketing = 15 credits - £1,250
Semester 3 – Consultancy Project = 30 credits - £3,000
The fee for the first module is required to be paid via bank transfer prior to the enrolment period. Subsequent fees can be paid online via Quick Pay or by bank transfer prior to the start date of the second and third semesters. Tuition fees can be paid in full prior to the first enrolment should a learner wish to do so.
In celebration of the launch of this MBA top-up, we are pleased to be able to offer a further discount to the course fee of £1,000 to the first 100 applicants who are offered a place on the course and who accept the offer in writing. This discount will be deducted from the final 30-credit module payment.
