Arrival on campus

For most courses, full-time students will benefit from substantial on-campus teaching and learning sessions.

International students

If you are an international student there is lots more information available to help you prepare. View our arrival Information to find out more.

Find your way around the campus

We have a handy tool to help you find everything you need, from university services, buildings, where to get help and even to help find an available PC. Visit the Wayfinder now to get exploring or join our virtual tour.

Late arrivals

Please aim to arrive in time for the main teaching start date. However, we do appreciate that in certain circumstances you may not be able to do so. In this case, the following support and activities are available to help you settle in and catch up:

  1. Call the Student Engagement Team on +44 (0) 24 7765 6565 to discuss your options.
  2. Access your online induction materials; this will provide you with an introduction to the university, hints and tips about student life and allow you to find your learning materials.
  3. If you are an international student, visit our orientation page for a schedule of events. If you need further advice, contact the International Student Support Team on +44 (0) 24 7765 2010.
  4. If you are staying in University-owned accommodation, please email us at unihalls@futurelets.co.uk to inform us of your arrival date, if it will be after your contract start date.

Arrival checklist

There are a few things you will need to do to be able to fully start your student journey.

Activate your IT account

Your Office 365 account will be automatically created when you complete your enrolment, and details on how to activate it can be found in your online induction. To use your account, go to Microsoft Office 365 or, for more information, log in to the Student Portal.

You need to check your university email regularly for important communications from the university. Please note that university staff will only respond to emails sent from your Office 365 account.

Make sure you have your Student ID card

You also need to have been issued your student ID before your student loan will be released.

You should already have uploaded a photo for your card after your enrolment; if so, it will be posted to your chosen address.

To apply for your student ID, once you have enrolled, follow the instructions on Wayfinder – please select your location from the pane on right. We may need to verify your identity and nationality at the time.

Choose your extra module

Coventry University has developed the unique Add+vantage scheme to help you gain work-related knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience to facilitate your transition from university to the working world.

Add+vantage modules are a mandatory part of most full-time undergraduate courses, but you are able to choose from an extensive range of modules. Take a look at our Add+vantage Level 1 Modules leaflet for examples of previous modules (please note these are subject to change).

Further information relating to Add+vantage modules and the registration process will be discussed during your first week of teaching.
