PreTeach is a one-term short course for candidates who are about to embark on a Coventry University PGCE.  PreTeach introduces you to the craft of the classroom and aims to help you to begin to develop your own standards and explore how to manage your time and wellbeing. You will also be introduced to the ways in which children learn as well as what to expect from your PGCE year.  

 

For those wishing to have an opportunity to gain further knowledge and understanding of teaching, we also offer PreTeach Skill-Builder short courses. Skill-Builders are one school term in length and consist of four short courses, each concentrating on a specific teaching skill. There are 12 short courses to choose from, all of which are delivered online. Topics include how to manage pupil behaviour, how to plan a lesson, how to teach pupils of all abilities, and how to assess and mark.  


Islamic Finance MSc Progression Route Coventry University

Candidates who have successfully completed the Advanced Diploma in Islamic Finance (ADIF) qualification will be eligible to enrol on this MSc Islamic Finance degree. The Islamic Finance content will have been studied as part of the ADIF qualification so this Progression Route degree focuses on the conventional finance content required for an MSc qualification.

The course will consist of 4 weeks intensive face-to-face teaching in addition to remote study.


Practice Certificate in Independent and Supplementary Prescribing – Level 6 Coventry University

Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coventry University

Pre-Hospital Emergency Care BSc (Hons) Coventry University

This course has been developed to complement pre-hospital paramedic/nursing care qualifications and experience, and provide the opportunity for registered paramedics or nurses to build upon existing FdSc and DipHe qualifications to achieve a BSc (Hons) degree. 


Stroke Care Coventry University

This module aims to provide students with the opportunity to explore ‘best practice’ in managing stroke and transient ischaemic attack (T.I.A). Students will be able to learn about risk prevention, acute rehabilitation, pathophysiology and urgent treatment.


Advancing Neurological Physiotherapy Practice Coventry University

This module is designed to develop students' theoretical and clinical knowledge within the practice of contemporary neurological physiotherapy. Students will have the chance to evaluate the evidence base associated with current neurophysiotherapy practice and will examine its practical applications.


Community Practitioner Nurse Prescribing (NMC V150) Coventry University

This single, stand-alone (20 credit) module aims to prepare Community Practitioner Nurse Prescribers to prescribe from the Community Practitioner Formulary. The module comprises integrated theory and practice elements and adheres to the NMC Standards of Proficiency for Nurse and Midwife prescribers (2018).

The course is open to community specialist practitioners such as district nurses, school nurses and health visitors. On qualification, you will be able to prescribe from the ‘Nursing Formulary for Community Practitioners’ (NMC course code: V150).
