Dr. Rebecca Grant

Dr. Rebecca Grant is a Senior Lecturer in Human Factors and the Course Director for MSc Human Factors in Aviation - a part time, distance learning masters. Currently Rebecca divides her time between human factors and applied psychology teaching and research. Rebecca is a registered Occupational Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council, a Graduate Member of the Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors and a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society.

In her work, Rebecca aims to take an integrated human factors approach (considering design, personnel, training, health and safety, environmental, and organisational issues) in order to improve usability, effectiveness and safety. Rebecca’s current research involves the human factors aspects of aircraft cabin and passenger safety and aircraft ground handling.

Prior to joining Coventry University, Rebecca was a lecturer in human factors and a postgraduate course director at Cranfield University. Rebecca led the research activities in the human factors aspects of aircraft cabin and passenger safety, with particular research interests in cabin design, passenger behaviour, emergency evacuation, cabin crew operations and passenger safety information. Rebecca was involved in projects commissioned by UK, European and several international clients, including major aircraft manufacturers, regulators and operators. Rebecca’s teaching commitments included significant contributions to MSc programmes in human factors in aviation, ergonomics and safety, and applied psychology.
