Dr. Carlo Tramontano
In 2004 I was awarded a PhD (“Prosociality, Innovation and Collective Efficacy in Educational and Organizational Context”) by Sapienza University of Rome. My thesis was entitled “Determinants of life satisfaction: a comparative analysis in Italy and Bolivia” and was mainly focused on the study of the impact of psychosocial determinants (specifically values and self-efficacy beliefs) on life satisfaction in a sample of adolescents and young adults from Italy and Bolivia.

I am currently collaborating with Dr. Fida (Sapienza University of Rome) in three ongoing research programmes:
- “From university to work: a longitudinal study on stress and burnout process during nursing higher education and the first years of practice” (PI: Prof. R. Alvaro) - This research followed two cohorts of nursing students from their first year of education (about 1,200 nursing students). The main aim of this research was to investigate different factors that can lead to early burnout as well as examine both cheating and unethical behaviours in the academic and clinical facets of the nursing education. Furthermore, the research aimed to understand whether and how cheating behaviours can be translated into unethical behaviours at work (students taking part in the study are followed for 3 years after their graduation).
- “Nurse moral disengagement and deviant behavior: a longitudinal study” (PI: Dr A. Sili) – This research aim to examine unethical decision making and the role of leaders in this process. The study is following about 350 nurses over a 2-year period of time.
- “Are Errors always wrong? Learning from errors: an empirical study on error management in complex organizations”. Sapienza University of Rome small grant. (PI: Roberta Fida).
