Dr. Emma Holdsworth

Dr Emma Holdsworth is a lecturer in forensic psychology and a Chartered Psychologist.  Emma is the module leader for M82PY; Psychology in the Criminal Justice System, M75PY; Psychology in Forensic Decision Making, and M144PY; Treatment of Offenders and Victims. Emma also provides guest lectures on forensic psychology including the theories of intimate partner violence, offender motivation, and strengths-based interventions for offenders. 

Emma’s areas of research interest are offender rehabilitation and violence prevention. Research projects Emma has worked on include the evaluation and redevelopment of non-accredited offending behaviour programmes for Wiltshire Probation Trust, and a European project involving the development of a serious game to raise adolescents’ awareness about dating violence. 

Her PhD was the development of a theory of offender and facilitator engagement in group offending behaviour programmes.
