Joey Leong Coventry University London Scholarship

About the award

Coventry University London has partnered with alumni and award-winning Malaysian film star Joey Leong to launch the Joey Leong Coventry University London scholarship for October 2018 entry.

Joey Leong, whose filmography includes blockbuster Asian movies such as Blood Ties (2009), The Second Coming (2013) and Our Sister Mambo (2015), recently graduated from a one-year top-up course at Coventry University London and will received a BA Honours degree in Global Business.

During her time at Coventry University London, Joey held the role of International Student Ambassador, helping to develop relationships between the Coventry University Group and Malaysia’s Higher Education institutions.


The Joey Leong Coventry University London scholarship is available to all  Malaysian students applying for undergraduate courses for October 2018 entry. 

A total of one award is available. Successful applicants will receive the first year fees of a Coventry University London three year undergraduate course. The scholarship will be awarded by means of a full fee discount for the first year of study.

Allocation of scholarships will be decided on assessment of the following;

  • Available to self-funded Malaysian nationals only
  • Academic requirements: Pass the STPM with a minimum of BBBB OR pass the UEC Senior Level with Grade A2 or above (80%) in at least 5 relevant subjects not including English or Malay (students must also provide Junior Level transcript or certificate)
  • English language requirements: IELS 6.0 with 5.5 minimum in each component.
  • Submit a 500 words statement on how you plan to use your skills to contribute to Malaysia’s economic growth
  • Complete and submit the scholarship application form by the deadline


Please note that this scholarship cannot be combined with any other Coventry University scholarship. In cases where an applicant is awarded more than one Coventry University award, the award which provides the greatest benefit to the student will apply.

The decision to award a student this scholarship is at the sole discretion of Coventry University. Coventry University reserves the right to award less than the total number of scholarships.
