I am an internationally published Molecular Parasitologist and a Lecturer in Bioscience. I obtained my doctorate from Durham University, School for health, Medicine and Pharmacology and specialised in Toxoplasma gondii drug target research. My undergraduate degree is from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and with a first class in Immuno-parasitology with emphasis on Malaria research. My current research interest is to identify the relationship of various aspects of host-parasite interactions using metagenomic analysis from the data obtained from molecular scatological methods.

I teach on Biomedical Sciences programmes especially the discipline of Molecular sciences including Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Pathophysiology and Parasitology. I have taught on a range of degree programs in Biomedical, Biological, Life Sciences and Health Sciences in a few Universities in the UK and in Sri Lanka. I enjoy University teaching, empirical research in molecular microbiology and parasitology and pedagogic research in interactive teaching and learning innovations in teaching Molecular Biosciences. I am a member a fellow of Higher Education Academy. I like public engagement and awareness activities and believe in the impact on society in a multidisciplinary facet.
