Bob Wilkinson is the Course Tutor and Programme Manager for the undergraduate courses in English, TEFL, Creative Writing, Spanish, French and the combined Honours degree in English and Journalism. He oversees the academic content and quality of these courses within the School of Humanities.

His academic interests, teaching and research are in the fields of Discourse Analysis and Critical Discourse Analysis. He has written and presented papers in areas such as Metaphor analysis, Transitivity in Political speeches, Linguistic Imperialism and Media Discourse, and he is recognised within the Faculty as such. He has also presented papers in Academic Writing and Rhetoric. Bob is a key member of the ‘English Language in the Professions and HE’ (ELPHE) research group at Coventry University, headed by Professor Hilary Nesi, and with colleagues in the group, is working on an on-line journal of spoken monologue.
