International students starting in January 2022

Enrolment is the formal process through which you join the University. You must have completed your online enrolment onto your course on or before Monday 31 January 2022.

Wednesday 05 January 2022

Online enrolment opens. Online enrolment for courses beginning in January 2022, starts from Wednesday 5 January. No need to worry if you don’t receive your invite on this day – we send out enrolment invites over several days so you may not receive your personalised link as soon as enrolment opens. If you have met your conditions and have paid your deposit, just keep checking your inbox. 


Monday 17 January 2022

The semester and teaching will start on 17 January 2022. Once you have received the link to our teaching and learning platform Aula, you will be required to engage with your course content. Please note that you do not need a CAS to access your learning online or complete your enrolment.


Monday 31 January 2022

The last day you can enrol onto your course. Enrolment after this deadline is not guaranteed so we strongly encourage you to fulfil your enrolment requirement(s) early.


Friday 25 March 2022

A fully online route will be offered for a significant number of our courses. And most of the courses can be studied online for the first semester except for certain Health and Life Sciences related courses. The Latest date to arrive in the UK is 25 March 2022. We encourage you to arrive as soon as possible for better learning and teaching experience.

Teaching and learning this January

We are planning, in line with government guidance, to deliver as much on-campus teaching as possible. If you’re not able to attend campus, fully online routes will be offered for a significant number of our courses, where there are no specific requirements for on-campus activity.

The enrolment process

In order complete your enrolment, you must:

  • have met all of your offer conditions
  • We will send you an invite with a personalised link to enrol online so remember to keep checking your email inbox.
  • Finish your enrolment and pay a minimum of £8,000 by 31 January 2022. Please note that your payment should have been received and cleared by our finance department before this deadline.

Pay a deposit of £4,000

After paying your deposit, providing your ATAS certificate if your course requires it and your Under 18 consent form if applicable, you will be sent a unique link via email where you will need to complete some essential details (i.e. confirmation of personal details, course details, qualifications, T&Cs).This includes letting us know whether you intend to start your course online in your home country or travel to the UK.

  • If you plan to travel, you will be asked to confirm the date of your travel plans when completing the registration. Please do provide an estimated UK arrival date even if you do not have your travel plans fully confirmed yet. This information is crucial to providing you with your access to complete your enrolment as soon as you become eligible to do so.
  • Please remember, to check the latest government guidance on entering the UK before planning your travel arrangements.
  • If you plan to travel, you will make an appointment to complete your right to study checks face-to-face based on the travel dates you have provided.
  • If you are already in the UK or are due to arrive before 07 February 2022, we need to check your documents to satisfy your visa requirements. This is what we call a right to study check. If you’re going to arrive in the UK after 07 February, you will be able to complete your enrolment remotely and your right to study check when you arrive.
  • If you plan to begin studying fully online from your home country, we will not sponsor you under the Student Route. You will not need to book an appointment for a right to study check. You will be released to enrolment for a fully online programme. 


Begin your induction

Once you have completed registering your details, you can begin your induction and learning activities/materials through Aula.


Pay a second instalment 

Once the document check has been completed, and you have paid at least £8,000 which must have cleared in the University’s account, you will receive a link to complete your enrolment online. This will be sent to the email address that you provided with your application. Please be aware that international payments can take up to 10 working days to reach us, depending on what country it will be applied from. You must also include your Student ID so the Finance Team can verify this. The Finance Terms and Conditions can be found on the Finance Terms and Conditions page, please note the deadlines to pay the remaining fees for your studies.


Log on

Log on to a computer to complete online enrolment.

Teaching will start online from Monday 17 January 2022 and you are required to start attending your online classes as soon as you are granted access to your course materials through Aula.

Postgraduate courses requiring ATAS

If your course requires ATAS clearance, you will not be issued a CAS statement, or be granted access to course materials or online enrolment until we have received a copy of your ATAS certificate. Once we have your ATAS certificate on file, and you have fulfilled all of your other offer conditions, you will be granted access and receive a link to complete online enrolment. Check this webpage to see if your course require an ATAS certificate.

Students who are under 18

Before enrolling, students who are under 18 years old should meet with an International Student Support Advisor before collecting their BRP Cards.

f you are under 18 years old at start of the teaching period (Monday 17 January 2022), our International Student Support Team will need to complete an under 18 check, validating your UK guardian details. You should have received the under 18 parental guidance form with your offer letter. The form is available to complete online.

Please ensure you complete all sections of the form and provide contact details for your UK guardian. We will not be able to grant you access to the registering portal or send you a link to complete online enrolment until this check has been completed, so we encourage you to provide these details before Monday 17 January 2021. BRP Collection

During January enrolment you will be invited to collect your BRP card if it is held at Coventry University at the same time as you do your right to study check. You will receive email confirming your appointment from the International Student Compliance team once you have confirmed your travel details in the registering portal, completed your quarantine period (if applicable) and either;

  • Coventry University have received your BRP card, or
  • You have collected your BRP card from an alternate location, ie. Post Office

You should not come to the Student Centre to collect your BRP card without an appointment as you will not be able to enter the building.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

When you attend your appointment, please come with the following documentation:

  • CAS letter (this can be digital)
  • Current passport
  • Date stamped travel vignette, this should be in your passport. If it is not stamped, please bring with you evidence of your travel to the UK (travel booking confirmation or boarding pass etc.)
  • BRP collection letter stating ‘Coventry University’ or your BRP card

If you do not have all the required documents with you for your appointment, your appointment will need to be re-arranged.

What if I cannot attend my appointment?

If you are unable to attend your appointment for any reason (for example, self-isolating), please contact stating your full name, student ID number and appointment time and date as soon as possible. The International Student Compliance team will then re-arrange your appointment and send you a new calendar invite.

Please read the following information prior to your appointment:

  • You will receive your appointment by calendar invitation. Please make sure your calendar is set to UK time.
  • Your appointment will be at the Student Centre, Gulson Road, CV1 2JH - main entrance.
  • Please bring a mask or face covering (unless exempt); depending on COVID-19 guidance in place at the time, a face covering may be required for entry to the Student Centre.
  • Only students with an appointment will be permitted entry to the Student Centre; please do not bring friends/family with you, and ensure you maintain required social distance from others.
  • This appointment is for ONE card issue only. If you wish to collect dependant BRPs you must let us know in advance so we can allocate appropriate time.
