An Auto-ethnographic Inquiry Concerning the Dehumanising Role of Date-Driven Insight’ by Professor Lee Quinn

32 years ago, almost to the day of this lecture, Lee arrived for a mandatory meeting with his school's career advisor; a stern lady, with a preconfigured checklist of socially acceptable career choices. Woe betide anyone unwilling to comply with her repertoire of approved options!

Squeezing into a small, dimly lit, basement office Lee baulked at a stale musty odour saturating the air. Feeling claustrophobic and mildly anxious he desperately wanted to escape. There were no pleasantries and the central question arrived thick and fast: "Okay, so your response form suggests that you 'enjoy adventure, travel, meeting interesting people and solving problems', but what do you want to be?" Responding intuitively, Lee's answer changed his life in ways he could never have imagined.

Come along to hear more about Lee’s journey to Coventry.

The lecture is open to all will be followed by light refreshments in the George Eliot Building Foyer.

Spaces are limited, so early registration is advised.
