Commonwealth Training Camp: Supporting the Elite Athlete

With the Commonwealth Games coming to Birmingham in 2022, there is growing interest in gaining an understanding of how athletes train and prepare for such an event.

The focus of the Summer School is to gain an insight into the preparation techniques used in elite sport, from a range of disciplines within Sport and Exercise Science.

From nutritional interventions, to exercising in extreme environments, as part of the course not only will you get to see some of the protocols utilised, but also gain hands on experience. All sessions will be undertaken in our excellent learning facilities, including a newly built £60 million Science and Health Building.

This course is aimed at students who are currently undertaking undergraduate or postgraduate study in a sport or health related area e.g. sport and exercise science (kinesiology).
