At Coventry, we’ve always strived to portray what it’s like to be a student here. What makes this task difficult is that it is the students who make the student experience. University staff can try and enhance it, but at the end of the day, it is up to our students to make the most of their time whilst at university and create a unique and memorable student experience.
We wanted to bring the CU student experience closer to you. And what better way to do that than ask our current students, the experts, to define what it is that makes Coventry a great place to live and study?
So we asked a bunch of our students to get together and talk about the different aspects of their lives at Coventry, unaware at this point what the purpose was behind the exercise. Those sessions were then recorded and were later used by Alan Short and Seamus Malone, formerly from Aardman Animations, to create five short animated films covering the different aspects of the student experience. A corresponding animated character was created for each student that took part in the films. The animated backgrounds and the looks of the characters in the films are based on genuine pictures of our single site, city centre campus. The voices and opinions expressed in the films are those of our students.
We firmly believe that these films illustrate the essence of what it really means to be a student at Coventry University. So sit back, watch and enjoy!
