Top tips for getting placements
- Think outside the box and try to keep an open mind when exploring options.
- Some sectors do not widely advertise placement opportunities and so this requires you to network and broker these opportunities for themselves.
- Don’t overlook other careers you might be suitable for just because you think your degree restricts you to.
- Contact The Talent Team to gain advice, guidance and help to write speculative applications, CV, cover letters and portfolios.
- Look at your transferable skills, interests and strengths before choosing what type of work experience you wish to gain.
- For creative CVs, create an outstanding skills based CV and present your best work in a portfolio.
- Write an excellent cover letter relating to the placement you're applying to.
- Follow-up all applications with either an email or phone call.
