Professionals working in architecture are highly influential in creatively shaping the environment in which we live, work and play. Architecture, as the mother of all arts, is an intellectual, artistic and technical challenge.
We focus on sketching, designing, collaborative and creative design activity as well as honing your capability to conceptualise, develop and communicate innovative ideas in the form of the design pitch and critique.
From clothing to footwear, bag-making to millinery and jewellery; you will learn design, pattern-cutting, manufacturing, marketing and fashion journalism. We also offer visits to Paris and Berlin each year.
Through a series of structured projects we help develop your skills and introduce you to a range of contemporary approaches to art practice by independently exploring personal interests, to produce self-initiated art projects.
You will explore traditional artforms from paint to sculpture, to conceptual and commercial art, new media to the latest computer software. Whatever your chosen medium is, Fine Art and Illustration will more than likely cover it.
Foundation will allow you to develop and explore a broad and eclectic range of visual communications practice including but not limited to: Fine Art, Graphic Design, Illustration and Animation, Fashion design, Interior Design and Industrial Design.
Integrated design, typography, design in context and visual communication are the four themes around which you will create a wide range of graphic communication concepts, leading you to design across various media platforms.
Using a range of traditional and digital technologies, and approaches, drawing will underpin your studies where you can begin to develop your own signature style.
With an emphasis on innovation and cutting edge image-making and design, you are encouraged to use a wide range of media and material to create 2D, 3D and moving images.
You will learn how to problem solve through correct application of research, develop understanding of material application and use 2D and 3D aids both virtual (CAD) or real (physical models).
