Draft Corporate Plan
04/03/2010

You are invited to read through and provide feedback on our draft Corporate Plan for 2010-2015.

The Plan itself is inevitably quite long and we intend to produce shorter versions each year giving the key tasks for that year, and the achievements of the previous year, as we have done before. But we think you should have the opportunity to see, and comment on, the whole document as it stands.

We wanted to give individual members of staff the opportunity to comment so there is a downloadable document on the internal website alongside a Discussion Forum and a set of Frequently Asked Questions relating to the Plan. We would very much like to welcome and encourage all staff to participate in discussions via this medium. Please click here to access the discussion forum.

We look forward to receiving your responses by 31 March. Responses should be sent to strategyfeedback.hr@coventry.ac.uk

Professorial Lecture by Ted Cantle

Thursday 18 March/6.00pm/Humber lecture theatre

Key Challenges for Community Cohesion in an Era of ‘Super Diversity’

Ted Cantle is Professor of Community Cohesion at the Institute of Community Cohesion (iCoCo). Community Cohesion emerged as a new policy framework for race and diversity issues just over 9 years ago. It has been widely adopted by statutory and voluntary agencies and more latterly by businesses. The 23,000 schools in England are now under a duty to promote community cohesion and programmes to tackle prejudice and intolerance, reduce inequalities and to more positively promote belonging and the benefits of diversity, are evident in just about every neighbourhood. Ted Cantle, the architect of the cohesion concept, will consider the key challenges ahead.

Refreshments will be available from approximately 7pm. If you would like to attend contact Miss Suky Sanghera (s.sanghera@coventry.ac.uk) or call 5294.
